ABOUT

Hear Us, an impact advocacy project, shares first hand accounts of the human impact and continued cruelty of criminalization, jails, prisons, and detention centers in the time of COVID-19.

In partnership with public defenders, organizers, and activists, the project will work with people incarcerated and their loved ones to collect phone calls from jails, prisons, and detention centers, video selfies of families and friends, and letters, and other artifacts to create powerful witness statements that will drive the general public to take action, provide journalists and media platforms with powerful stories to amplify, and ultimately drive legal change.

This is a ground up project led and informed by those closest to the problem. The goal is local action and change, not just general awareness. The project is “owned” by no one.

WE MUST DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THOSE IN A POSITION OF POWER TO IGNORE OR BE INDIFFERENT TO HUMAN SUFFERING ANY LONGER.
